Exhibition title: “Thank God it's Monday”
I believe in personal projects. Personal projects are self-initiated, curiosity-driven and experimental. They fuel my work and determined the direction of my art career for the past ten years.
Last July, I moved to Kuala Lumpur and set up a team to work with me. I ran an experiment with my team by using Google's “20-percent rule”, using 20 percent of working time to work on passion projects. The team has been taking Mondays off to explore various projects, from sketches to sculptures to paintings to mental health to NFTs. Take time to wander around, play some mahjong, and say hi if you see us.

Sometimes, things are heavy because they aren’t ours to carry. Give that shit back. Helloo Monday!!
TW: Sexual Violence
Waheyyy! International Women’s Day is coming up. Here’s to us not carrying guilt for things that aren’t/weren’t our fault. And to a world that stops raising young children, girls especially, to think they should. God. I wish I’d learnt the difference.
It is not our responsibility to “help” another human being control their urge to violate our body. For example, you can’t “help” an abuser not hit you by “not saying stupid things”. They need to learn that it is not ok to abuse or violate somebody else. This needs to be taught and deeply ingrained. And I really don’t understand why Matthew 18:9 just isn’t quoted as much?
I have, without a doubt, slut shamed, victim blamed, been sexist, before. Without a shadow of a doubt. I probably still unknowingly do that now. It’s hard to undo all the programming. And i hate that that was what I learnt. Essentially, that if I did “enough”, they would go to the next person. But it has nothing to do with what you do/don’t do, and everything to do with what they believe they have the right to do to somebody else.
“There will always be a girl who is less sober, less secure, with less friends walking in a darker part of town. I want her safe as much as I want me safe.”

(Please scroll for English version)

The prison inside prison
After my immediate remand on November 23, I had intended to send letters from the prison to update you my latest situation in jail after my remand on November 23. But owing to the sudden solitary confinement that night, it turned out that I was unable to do so. Although I have been in prison three times, being held in the prison isolation unit is far beyond my expectation. It took me a lot of time and energy to calm myself down and reorganise my thoughts.
On the first day of remand in Lai Chi Kok Reception Centre, I went through the registration procedures—meeting with officers, changing into prison clothes and obtaining daily necessities. The procedures are very familiar as I was released from here in June. At about 4 pm, Ivan Lam and I completed all procedures and waiting for further instructions in the fingerprinting room, officers from the security team suddenly took me to the hospital in the Centre. While I thought it was a normal procedure to see doctor, I was taken to a single cell at the end of the hospital corridor. At that moment, I knew it was the beginning of the nightmare.
After arriving the single cell, the correctional officer told me that I needed to wait for a senior officer to explain the situation and said, "You should be here for a while." During waiting for the senior officer, I felt very disturbed and kept wondering why they moved me to solitary confinement. In the end, the senior provided a highly unexpected reason—there were "foreign objects" in my stomach, the officer said, they could be drugs, rings or gold and silver objects. Therefore, I needed to be in solitary confinement for several days until they found out what the "foreign objects" were.
I have taken X-rays for a few times, but nothing happened before, I was completely confused about the X-rays result. I have never had anything to do with drugs, and all food I had before remand were normal food. Moreover, under the current policy, the prison administration does not allow inmates to see their X-rays, so there is no way to verify the results.
As the officers suspected I possess drugs in my body, the treatment was even worse than normal solitary confinement. Generally speaking, persons in remand can spend their time in the activity room with three to forty other inmates in the daytime and return to their five-personal cell at night. However, what happened to me was, apart from visiting by my friends and relatives and taking a shower, I basically could not leave the single cell. I was even not allowed to have one hour of outdoor activity. Since the isolation was based on the presumption of possession of drugs, correctional officers would check my blood pressure and oxygen saturation every four hours even at midnight. The light in the cell was also kept turning on 24 hours a day, so I needed to use my face mask as the blindfold to barely put myself to sleep.
The most difficult thing was that since the original intent of the entire confinement was to let persons excrete drugs from their body, so I could not use the toilet in the cell, and the tap did not have water to prevent people from flushing drugs away. Instead, officers would provide a plastic plate. But because of the lack of replacement of the toilet plate, I could only use the washbasin to urinate. After the I excreted in the plate, I needed to inform the officer to come to the cell and check the excrement for any foreign objects such as pills or drugs. When the process was completed, the officers would ask me to sign an "isolated observation" form. I still remembered the uncomfortable feeling when I saw the form clearly stated "suspected possession of drugs in the inmate's body" every time I signed the paper.
To my understanding, such solitary confinement generally lasts three to five days, and today is the second day of formal solitary confinement. I hope that when this letter is sent and published, the isolation is ended. Before I could adapt the fact that I was already in prison, I was sent to solitary confinement and all activities and communication were cut off. It was indeed difficult to endure, and I am sorry that I have not yet provided any analysis of the politics and social environment. But I know that there are still many other Hong Kong protesters who are facing lawsuits or are in jail like me. I hope you can continue to do as much as you can to let them know they are not alone. Monday (November 30) is the day when 12 Hongkongers were arrested and sent to Mainland China for 100 days, I urge everyone to continue to pay attention to them.
Finally, I want to be frank that, in the face of uncertainties, I just feel uneasy and anxious. However, as I said when I stepped into the dock in the courtroom, "Hang in everyone, I know the situation that the people outside face will be more difficult. Keep fighting." I will also learn to turn the pains and sufferings I encountered in prison into the power that drives my growth. I know it will never be easy, but I will try my best.

If Allen Iverson could have it all to do over again, he would have done everything the same.
All of it.
Except one thing.
He would have listened to Larry Brown.
Iverson and Brown had an often contentious relationship during their seven years together with the 76ers.
Brown was old-school and buttoned-down. Iverson was hip-hop and defiant.
They accomplished some great things together. But not at first.
On the day Iverson was selected to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, the 11-time all-star expressed profound regret at the way he defied Brown, who preceded him in the Hall of Fame by 10 years.
“I don’t regret nothing,” Iverson said at a downtown Houston hotel after getting the Hall of Fame news. “Like nothing in my life. I love being who I am. I love the person that I am. I feel comfortable in my skin.
“But if I could have a wish as an athlete? I wish I would have bought in to what [Brown] was trying to give me all along (instead of) just being defiant. Being a certified ass---- for nothing. When all he wanted was the best for me.
“And I didn’t take constructive criticism the way I should have. You know what I mean?
“To me, in my eyes, he’s the best coach ever. To me. You know what I mean? And I didn’t take what God was giving me the right way. God sent him to me, and I was defiant at that time.”
Iverson played for Johnny Davis as a rookie in 1996-97 and then for Brown for the next six years.
He was an all-star all six years, led the 76ers to the NBA finals in 2001, was MVP in 2001, was All-Star game MVP in 2001 (“Where’s my coach?”) and led the NBA in scoring three of his six years under Brown.
“Once I bought in and caught up to what I was supposed to know, that’s when I became the MVP,” Iverson said. “That’s when it went from just a talented player to the best player on Earth.”
Brown went on to coach the Pistons, Knicks and Bobcats before moving back to the college ranks in 2012 and coaching Southern Methodist, where he remains.
Iverson’s Georgetown coach, John Thompson, was there Monday but Brown wasn’t at Iverson’s press conference, and Iverson hadn’t spoken to him yet.
But he promised he would soon.
“We going to talk,” he said. “Trust me. But I’m going to tell you exactly why I haven’t spoken to him yet. I know I have to speak to him today because it’s official. So I have to speak to him. But the emotional part of me, you know what I mean? Is why I haven’t spoken to him yet.
“Because I know that there won’t be no conversation, there will just be crying. I know it. As soon as I hear his voice. I already know it.”

Allen Iverson bounced back from a rare
subpar effort and scored 39 points as the Philadelphia 76ers
posted a 114-110 victory over the Indiana Pacers, who have
suffered consecutive losses for the first time in 15 months.
Iverson, who leads the league in scoring at 28.1 points per
game, had only 14 in Monday's 74-73 loss to Orlando. Tonight,
he scored 10 in the fourth quarter as Philadelphia overcame an
eight-point deficit.
George Lynch had 21 points and Tyrone Hill added 17 for
Philadelphia, which defeated a team with a winning record for
only the fifth time in 13 games. The 76ers snapped a 10-game
losing streak against Indiana, defeating the Pacers for just the
second time since January 15, 1994.
"That was my first time beating Indiana," said Iverson. "It was
real special.
"I really wanted to get the win for coach. He hasn't beaten
them since he arrived here," Iverson said of Sixers coach Larry
Brown, who coached the Pacers for four seasons until 1997.
Iverson was then alerted to the fact that his team has never won
a game in which he scored 40 points.
"I was saying to myself, 'I hope I don't get over the 40 mark
and we lose.' Maybe God was sending me and the team a message,
when I score over 40 we can't win so I'll take the 39 any day
for a win."
"(Iverson) is playing with a lot of confidence," said Pacers
center Rik Smits. "He has the green light to do anything he
wants. When you let him go, he's tough to guard. We like to
think we have a decent defense yet we still gave him almost 40
points."
Reggie Miller scored 27 points and Smits added 22 for Indiana,
which had not dropped two straight games since December 8-10,
1997. The Pacers lost for just the second time in their last
seven road games and fell to 6-4 away from home.
"Both teams went after it," said Miller. "This was more high
scoring than we expected. We thought it was going to be more of
a defensive game, but both teams lit it up from the offensive
end."
The 76ers opened the fourth quarter trailing 91-83 but used a
9-0 burst to seize the lead. Theo Ratliff drained a 16-footer
and Hill followed with a layup. Lynch, the goat in Monday's
loss, sank a long 3-pointer to get Philadelphia within 91-90.
Eric Snow's driving layup gave Philadelphia a one-point lead and
the advantage was never more than four points the rest of the
way. Miller sank a 3-pointer with 9.6 seconds left to draw
Indiana within 112-110, but Snow sealed the victory with a pair
of free throws with 8.8 seconds remaining.
"The great thing about the league is playing again right away,"
said Lynch. "You get to forget about mistakes. You're only as
good as your next game and it was nice to see we could win a
close game."
In Monday's 74-73 loss to the Magic, Lynch threw away an
inbounds pass that allowed Orlando's Darrell Armstrong to hit
the game-winning layup as time expired.
Iverson showed early in the contest that his performance on
Monday was nothing more than a momentary lapse in an All-Star
season. He had 14 points in the first quarter as Philadelphia
led 27-24 after 12 minutes.
After allowing Philadelphia to shoot 67 percent (12-of-18) in
the opening quarter, Indiana turned the tables in the second.
The Pacers made 13-of-19 shots in the second quarter to pull
within 60-59 at the break.
Indiana opened the third quarter with a 13-4 burst, extending
its lead to 84-72 with 7:49 left. Two free throws by Miller
with 3:35 remaining gave the Pacers a nine-point edge.

Gerald Wallace put a big hurt on Carmelo Anthony and Allen Iverson.
Wallace had 25 points, 13 rebounds and one very big block in the final minute as the Charlotte Bobcats handed the Denver Nuggets their third straight loss, 105-101 Monday night.
Iverson (31 points) and Anthony (25) bounced back from a poor shooting night against New Jersey on Saturday night, when they were a combined 11-for-33. But they both got banged up against the Bobcats with Iverson spraining his right ankle and Anthony spraining his left wrist.
Anthony said he's sore but fine and will play Wednesday night at Portland.
Iverson sounded a lot less confident in his status.
"The way I feel right now, I don't know if I would miss a game. I just will have to get up and see how I feel tomorrow," Iverson said. "Right now it's just frustrating to be out there at the end hobbling like that."
X-rays on Iverson's puffy ankle were negative.
Iverson and Anthony are 2-3 together, and their pairing since Melo's return from a 15-game suspension for fighting hasn't been the problem for the Nuggets, who failed for the second time in three nights to gain ground on division-leading Utah.
Rather, it's incorporating newcomer Steve Blake into the mix and having players J.R. Smith, Eduardo Najera, Linas Kleiza and Yakhouba Diawara adjust to their new, reduced roles, coach George Karl said.
"When things were going good, everybody was saying it was working right away, but it's going to take some time," said Anthony. "I don't want to make any excuses right now but it is going to take some time. I'm back off of a 30 days' (absence) and I'm still trying to get my rhythm, get my flow. My teammates are trying to get used to me back out there on the court. When I was out, they had different roles out there."
Charlotte capitalized on the disarray to win for just the eighth time in 24 road games.
"It was not a bad loss," Karl insisted. "We played a very good team."
That's a point Bobcats coach Bernie Bickerstaff has been preaching. Ten of his team's 16 wins have come against teams with winning records.
"I say we have a bad record, but we're not a bad basketball team," Bickerstaff said.
With the Bobcats ahead 102-101, Anthony came down with the ball that was bobbled around following a miss by Adam Morrison and he darted for the other end only to get rejected by Wallace.
"I went for steal then but couldn't reach it, so I kept going and blocked him," Wallace said.
Wallace then misfired at the other end, but Raymond Felton got the long rebound, was fouled by Anthony and sank both shots with 16 seconds left for a 104-101 lead.
Smith's off-balance 3-pointer was off-target with 6 seconds left and Jeff McInnis sank one of two free throws to ice it.
Before the game, Bickerstaff was lamenting his lack of a clutch player to close out games. "What we lack is a difference maker. A guy to go to down the stretch. We don't have a Kobe or a Carter to give the ball all the time with the game on the line," he said.
But he had plenty of players step up on this night.
Charlotte trailed 97-94 when Wallace hit a free throw, Morrison (12 points) swished a 3-pointer from the top of the key and Wallace swooped in for a tip-in to give the Bobcats a 100-97 lead with 2:26 remaining.
Iverson's three-point play tied it at 100 but the Nuggets wouldn't lead again, befuddled by Charlotte's strong defense and opportunistic offense.
Emeka Okafor added 18 points, 10 boards and five blocks and Felton scored 16 for Charlotte, which took an 81-79 lead into the fourth quarter and didn't fade this time.
"We play better against the elite teams in the league," Matt Carroll said. "We play fearless like we have nothing to lose."
Iverson said the key to ending Denver's skid is to step up on defense.
"Defense got us back into the game, that was evident," Iverson said. "It was easy to see that, that was when the crowd got back into the game, that's when we got into the game. That should be a sign to show what we can do when we play defense. When you play good defense, it turns into excellent offense."
Game notes
Bobcats C-F Othella Harrington sat out with a sore left knee, which he hurt at shootaround. ... The Nuggets fell to 12-12 at home and are 13-11 against teams with losing records.
